So who is StudioHarajuku?
I am Kelly, a 26 year old housewife and mother from Lincolnshire, UK. Who stumbled across a craft stall many years ago, bought a few bits to make some earrings and pendants just for myself and now is overrun by beads and findings.

Where does your name come from?
As many of you may know Harajuku is a district in Tokyo and is well known for the harajuku girls that dress with their own very unique styles. The harajuku part of the name derives from that as harajuku is associated with a unique style. However after translating it into English harajuku means sunny meadows. so Studio Harajuku is a workshop in the sunny meadows.

How long have you been crafting?
I've been dabbling for a long time (to far back to remember) but started with the jewellery/beading about 5 years ago and that is my focus now.

Did you study to do your work?
I studied 3D design crafts which incorporated metalwork, woodwork and ceramics which i really enjoyed for my final project my title was 'Catwalk Jewellery' and I designed and made a large collar, I want to say necklace but that word is far to dainty to describe it. After I finished that course I went onto fashion as I really enjoyed researching the fashion elements for that project and wanted to get more into it.

So who is Uniq Designs?
Me, My name is Monique, 33 from Lincolnshire, UK and I am proud mother to 2 ferrets Ozz and Zack.

Where does your name come from?
A lot of my friends call me Niq and it was just amusing to use the name Unique which is shortened to just Uniq.

How long have you been crafting?
Since I was born

Did you study to do your work?
I trained as an art teacher so I have a degree in Art/Design and Art history from that, and a degree/postgraduate in conservation and restoration of historical objects
